Our 6 month travel through beautiful South America is coming to an end.

The car is available in Colombia end of March 2017.

It's a 2002 110 TD5 sw full option in bonati grey. The alloy rims are in the same colour as the body.
The car has done 265000 km.

The car traveled South America in the last 6 months without noticeable problems (but we had some), and mechanical problems we encountered could be fairly easy fixed locally and by the help of South America people .

The car is tuned by a UK well recognized tuning company (BELL). The engine runs much smoother and at lower RPM with the 200 horsepower and 400 nm torque connected to the reinforced discovery automatic gearbox and transfer case. All around new ashcroft running gear.

For the South America voyage the car has been improved with different USB charging points, dual battery system, solar panel, Nanocom and other features which makes traveling so much more easy and comfortable.

Steel bullet proof Roof rack, two spare tires, winch which can be mounted forward and aft (only used once to help a truck), towing hooks forward and aft, fridge (220v &12V) and other spares are included in the sale.

Camping gear (like tipi tent 5m diameter and mattresses) discussable.

Perfect car for family, or for a overland couple who wishes to sleep inside the car.

Antes de eso, unos cuantos "padrinos" para cruzar no menos de 4 fronteras "flojo de papeles" desde Colombia hasta aca y unos miles de litros de gasoil....

El Defender en cuestión lo conozco en persona y tiene lindos "chiches" pero ya enumeraron todas las complicaciones (la de la lejanía principalmente). No sirve para otra cosa que repuestos y partes.

€ 5.000 sale llevarlo a casa, nuevamente (unos $85.000 Arg.) + los tramites aduaneros + impuestos + movimientos portuarios acá y allá, mas estadía.

Tengo U$S 7.000 puesto en casa. y estoy siendo muy generoso!!!!

He is talking about the costs and taxes of bringing the Defender to Argentina, and making a quite fair offer...
Does it has a V8 inside? Which gearbox and transfercase?

Hello Sallham,

Used car import are not allowed by Argentinian law, so there is no possible registration for this truck.
That's means that an Argentinian citizen can not bring the truck from Colombia to Argentina, also can not register it to his name.
So to get the truck from Colombia to Argentina the buyer will need to bend the rules (a lot) and after that the only that the buyer will can do with the truck is dismantle an use it for spare parts, the engine and chassis will be useless at all cause here that two parts unique ID are written in the car registration that's means written in stone for the case, to change it you need to prove the engine legit origin and I think, but not sure that the chassis can not be replaced.
